The Rail Loading Terminal forms a key part of the Northern Rivers Intermodal project, with approvals currently progressing to support future development and operation. Subject to final approvals, the terminal is intended to enable direct train container loading and provide a dedicated rail-connected freight solution for regional producers, distributors, transport operators, and industrial users.

The proposed terminal includes dedicated rail siding infrastructure designed to support direct container loading onto the North-South rail line. This would allow future users to move freight more efficiently between Northern NSW and key interstate destinations, helping reduce double-handling and improve supply chain resilience.
