A future-focused intermodal freight and logistics precinct supporting stronger regional connectivity, streamlined freight movement, and long-term economic growth across the Northern Rivers region.

About Northern Rivers Intermodal Precinct

Northern Rivers Intermodal Precinct is positioning the Richmond Valley as one of the east coast’s emerging agriculture, logistics and industrial hubs, bringing together 36 hectares of industrial land and purpose-designed rail infrastructure to help regional businesses expand, diversify and connect more efficiently to national supply chains.

Built on a simple belief: regional Australia deserves world-class freight infrastructure.

Our mission is to connect Northern NSW industries with faster, smarter and more cost-effective freight pathways.

By enabling direct rail access, reducing reliance on long-haul road freight and creating purpose-built industrial opportunities, Northern Rivers Intermodal is designed to help regional businesses move goods more efficiently while supporting investment, employment and economic growth across the Richmond Valley.

The precinct has been planned with long-term regional outcomes in mind — helping local producers, operators and industries access stronger connections to Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, key ports and national freight corridors.

Community & Stakeholder Information

Northern Rivers Intermodal has been planned with consideration for the industries, communities and stakeholders that will shape the future of freight in Northern NSW.

The precinct is designed to support regional economic development by improving freight access, creating industrial land opportunities and strengthening connections between local producers, transport operators, investors and major domestic and export markets.

As the project progresses, ongoing communication with government, industry and community stakeholders will remain central to ensuring the precinct delivers practical, commercially relevant and regionally beneficial outcomes.

For businesses, operators or stakeholders interested in learning more, the project team welcomes early conversations around land opportunities, infrastructure planning and future involvement in the precinct.
